Setting up review automation rules

Configure automation rules to define how and when AI responses are posted to Google reviews.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

    Go to GBP β†’ Automations

In the left sidebar, navigate to GBP then click Automations.

  2. 2

    Create a new rule

Click 'New Rule'. Choose the location the rule applies to, or select 'All Locations' to apply it globally.

  3. 3

    Set trigger conditions

Define when the rule triggers: on any new review, only 5-star reviews, only 1–3 star reviews, or reviews containing specific keywords.

  4. 4

    Choose action

Select the action: 'Generate and queue response' (human review required before posting) or 'Generate and auto-post' (posts immediately).

  5. 5

    Set tone and length

Configure the AI response tone (professional, warm, brief) and maximum response length.

  6. 6

    Save and activate

Click 'Save Rule'. The rule activates immediately for all new reviews matching the conditions.

Tips

  • Start with 'Generate and queue' mode to review AI responses for a week before enabling auto-post.
  • Create separate rules for positive and negative reviews to give you more control over sensitive cases.
